Welcome!
I'm a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Philosophy at Western Michigan University. My interests largely center around the history and philosophy of science, metaphysical and epistemological topics in the philosophy of physics and cosmology, and analytic metaphysics. Specific topics I am curious about are the history and philosophy of space-time theories, the nature of scientific explanation/realism in physical unobservables (e.g. dark matter/energy, the quantum state, etc.), and the philosophy of Isaac Newton. I also have a growing interest in public engagement in philosophy and science, teaching pedagogy, and feminist philosophy of science.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking around Michigan, stargazing, landscape painting, and reading on a variety of topics outside my academic interests, such as architecture and art history (of the latter, especially the work of Caspar David Friedrich), astrobiology, and horticulture/botany. I also have a small (but growing!) antique telescope collection.
