Welcome!
I'm a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Philosophy at Western Michigan University. My interests largely center around the history and philosophy of science, philosophy of physics, and metaphysics. Specific topics I am curious about are 17th and 18th Century natural philosophy (esp. Newton), the nature of scientific explanation/realism in physical unobservables (e.g. dark matter/energy, the quantum state, etc.), and contemporary cosmological models. I'm also interested in public engagement in philosophy and science, teaching pedagogy, and feminist philosophy of science.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking around Michigan, stargazing, and landscape painting (an attempt at a healthy alternative to brain rot). I also enjoy reading outside my academic work, such as on architecture and art history (especially the work of Caspar David Friedrich) and horticulture. Additionally, I have a small (but growing!) antique telescope collection, though I don't find the time to use them very much.
